Bay Leaves (Dried Laurels)

One of the most common herbs used I cooking is bay leaf. It adds a distinctively strong, aromatic and strong flavor. The dried laurel leaves are used in stews, braises, soups, roasted and baked dishes, meats, potatoes and sauces. It is usually taken out from the dish or food prior to serving.

It is also famously used in Filipino dishes like adobo, mechado, afritada, and menudo.
