White Pepper Powder

White pepper is extracted from the inner seed of the black pepper by rubbing off the black skin and exposing the dried grayish-white pepper. The powder’s light color makes it ideal for use in light-colored dishes, creamy soups and cream-based gravies. It is as well used in cooking casseroles, pies (tuna, chicken) and curry dishes.

White pepper powder, aside from its common use, can be used in longanisa(Filipino sausage), tocino(Filipino Bacon) and beef tapa (Filipino cured beef). It can also be added before serving in arroz caldo(chicken rice porridge), sopas (macaroni soup) and misua soup.
